At Extra-Help Huntingdonshire (also covering parts of Bedfordshire along the A1 corridor) we are passionate about helping everyone; this includes the elderly, parents, busy professionals and anyone who needs that extra helping hand on a regular or ad hoc basis.

In our ageing community we understand the importance of maintaining independence at home and so offer a range of services that include housekeeping, shopping, companionship, attending appointments as well as many others.  Our services are also aimed at busy households so as to help free up valuable time away from chores or just to ease the pressure of juggling the tasks of everyday life.

We are a family run business where care and compassion is as our driving force.  Having both worked in Public Service, for over 50 years between us, helping people is at the core of our being.  We understand the importance of trust and integrity and delivering a professional service.  With parents beyond retirement age and being busy parents ourselves we feel we totally understand the different challenges that everyday life presents and the impact it can have daily.

We ensure our team of friendly home helpers hold these values and take care and pride in their work ensuring you receive an exceptional service.

Extra Help is fully insured and all of our home helpers are personally interviewed, DBS and reference-checked. We aim to provide the same home helper for each visit to ensure continuity, consistency and to allow a rapport to build.

Services include:

• Domestic cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing
• Companionship – popping in, spending some time or providing respite for carers
• Shopping
• Accompany clients to supermarket, doctors, hospital appointments, hairdressers
• Household jobs (eg changing beds)
• Meal preparation
• Assistance to social events
• Spring cleaning
• Gardening and light DIY
