Extra Help: May 2014 Was Another Amazing Month! This month’s Head Office catch up …

Wow! May was such a busy month! I was shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year, through the Plymouth Herald and Louise was shortlisted as Employee of the Year at the Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) awards …

Although neither of us won the top award, it was great being nominated and going along to the events. We told you about the Plymouth Herald Awards night in one of our previous blog posts.

The EWIF awards were held in London in the RBS building. We travelled up from Plymouth the day before as the awards were during the day. We met up with Sarah who had travelled from Milton Keynes. It was simply a brilliant day, as it always is when we have the management team all together. We had a great time, a few glasses of champagne, a bit of sightseeing and an afternoon at the awards ceremony.

We met some amazing people; other franchisors, the EWIF co-ordinators, specialist franchise consultants and they had a brilliant speaker, Anne Wainwright, who owns four McDonald’s restaurant franchises. She was very inspirational!

Also in May, as well as travelling to London, Louise and I went to Milton Keynes to train three new franchisees. Preston, Ipswich and Harrow are now covered by Extra Help franchisees! We also had quarterly training for our existing franchisees and its great having everyone together sharing their successes and helping each other with any challenges.

Karen Moule from Enterprise Marketing came to speak to the franchisees at quarterly training, to help them with their marketing and our own Louise Pen-Collings did some twitter training.

We like to bring our franchisees together on a regular basis as we feel it helps them understand they are not out there alone. It helps them build bonds and friendships with each other. We also have a Facebook forum group for them to communicate with each other online and ask for help and support.

Until next time …
