This week, I’d like to introduce our new franchisees, Rose and Chris Ogborn. Rose and Chris are a lovely mother and son team who live in Westbury, Wiltshire and have worked together for many years …
Their Extra Help franchise serves Bath and Warminster, which includes five towns in the area!
Rose has been working within the community for over thirty years, running various care agencies. Until recently, she ran an agency with Chris, which Chris will continue to run while Rose focuses on Extra Help. Chris will also be helping Rose to run Extra Help.
Rose’s decision to look into franchising came about when she recently felt it was time to move away from the personal care side of the industry. She began to look for a business that could be managed from home and discovered Extra Help.
“A franchise was the right choice for me because of the support I would get in setting it up and running it,” says Rose, “I chose Extra Help because I was attracted by the variety of services I could potentially offer. I looked at quite a few cleaning franchises as well, but felt they were too restrictive.”
Once Rose decided to invest in an Extra Help franchise, the process of becoming a franchisee was extremely fast and only took one month. She started by attending induction training with Chris, which she describes as “very good, useful and definitely suited our needs.”
Since then, Rose has been assigned a mentor, another Extra Help franchisee called Denise Cooper (Rickmansworth), who she contacts as and when she needs to. “Denise is very responsive and has been extremely helpful whenever I’ve had queries,” says Rose, “She’s been helping us with any blips we’ve come across in setting up the business. She’s as good as gold!”
Rose is now extremely busy trying to recruit the right home helpers to enable her to deliver the high standard of service Extra Help is renowned for. Her first leaflet drop of 10,000 leaflets in her local area has already been distributed and she has organised a further delivery of 10,000 leaflets this month.
She has also advertised in local shops, both for home helpers and to promote her new business, and is also looking to advertise in local magazines. Rose says that she has already started to receive leads and, once she has the right home-helpers in place, will be offering all of Extra Help’s services.
We wish Rose and Chris every success in their new business and look forward to catching up with them to find out how they’re getting on!
