As you will have read in our previous blog posts, I have been on an incredible journey with the Venus Awards over the last 12 months. Here is a reminder of what has happened …
I was honoured to win my category at the Venus Awards 2016!
The finalists for the Devon Venus Awards 2015 were announced in September 2015 at a fabulous afternoon tea event, held at Saunton Sands Hotel in North Devon.

We had a wonderful time, with over 70 other guests, including other semi-finalists and sponsors. The awards were initially launched in May, with over 2,000 nominations in 12 different categories, so to get through to the final was a real honour.
The regional final took place at a glamorous and glitzy event at the end of November 2015. It was a fabulous event, with over 300 guests. I was delighted to be announced, regional winner!
Last week, Claire and I travelled to Audleys Wood Hotel, in Basingstoke for the national finals. It was a fabulous event, and the weather didn’t disappoint either. The venue was stunning, and the ceremony took place in a marquee in the gardens.
To be surrounded by so many inspiring women, with amazing stories, was incredible. We sat down to a 3-course meal while the finalists were announced. And then …
“To my surprise, I was announced as the winner in my category!”
The whole Venus experience has been a fabulous journey. I have loved it and met some amazing people along the way. I would recommend that if you have the opportunity to get involved with the Venus Awards in any way that you do.
Like I found out for myself, you never know where it may take you!
