A helping hand for Coventry

In this week’s blog, we’re happy to announce that another new franchisee, Rainat Badmus, has joined the Extra Help franchise network to offer our valuable, flexible range of home-help and cleaning services to a new area of the country.

Rainat, who lives in Coventry with her two young children, launched her new Extra Help home-help franchise on 1st May, covering the CV1, CV2, CV3 and CV6 postcode areas. As a nurse with many years’ experience in health and social care, specialising in intensive care, Rainat is a kind and caring lady who is perfectly placed to run a business that enables the elderly to remain independent in their own homes, as well as providing assistance to parents and working professionals.

Rainat says it was the COVID pandemic that made her question whether she was on the right life path.

“It was a truly terrible time for us nurses and, unfortunately, it made me realise I no longer wanted to be a full-time nurse,” she says, “I’m a very independent woman and decided it was time to do something for myself and find a career that challenged me but, as I also have a family, I wanted to be able to spend more time with my children.”

At the beginning of 2023, as a New Year’s resolution, Rainat started researching her options and found out about franchising. Deciding this was the best route for her, as she’d never run a business before and needed guidance, she originally looked at cleaning franchises.

She says: “I tried to think about what I was good at and enjoyed doing, and believed cleaning might be the answer. I’m a good cleaner – I genuinely enjoy it, and thought it would be a good fit. So, I began by looking for a low-cost cleaning franchise.”

However, shortly afterwards, Rainat received an email about Extra Help and was excited to discover the variety of home-help services you could offer to so many different types of people, including the elderly, working professionals and busy parents.

Rainat then had a conversation with Claire Robinson, our managing director, during which she says Claire persuaded her that Extra Help would be her ideal franchise and “won her heart”!

As soon as Rainat had signed up to become an Extra Help franchisee, she received full training from Extra Help’s franchise manager. She says the Extra Help team are very helpful and responsive and have told her they’re available for questions and support any time she needs them.

Since then, Rainat has completed her first leaflet drop. She has been busy recruiting home-helpers and already has two, potential team members lined up. She has also started to contact local council departments and has set her home-office up ready for business. Rainat will be training to be a Dementia Friend shortly and will recommend that any future team members complete the training too.
